Day 19/40: Surreal Wednesday!

Still not able to wrap my head around it but I am excited. Thank you Ate Cheryll! Very much!

Today's Microsoft NGO Connection Days was inspiring too! It gave an opportunity for us non profits to see the importance of technology in scaling up, to improve on our ICT systems and to be able to to bring in more people to join them in/us in our fight to uplift the lives of the poor. It is also important that we be reminded that we have to give our best for the least. I hope a lot of NGOs were inspired by Ate Issa's talk. It takes a lot of patience and courage and standing up but it's gonna be worth it. 

Excited to be sent on mission to Mindanao for the weekend. How great it is to be sent by You! :)

I hope and pray that I give God justice in everything I do. AMDG.

Day 5/40: Optimist Prime

"Bawal ang NEGAtron, dapat Optimist Prime!"

I have heard of this phrase...more of, I have read this phrase a lot in twitter. And I liked what it says but at the same time I love how it is connected to one of my favorite movie characters, Optimus Prime. Yes, I am a Transformers fan but this post won't be about me being one. 

Today was the last leg of the Digital Technology For Social Change #DigiTech4SocialChange workshop which was held in Naga City. Because I wasn't able to join the workshop held here in Metro Manila, I was happy when they had a livestreaming for their workshop today. I was tuned in the whole day though there were a few hiccups due to slow (at times) internet connection. One of my top favorite environment advocates (as she preferred to be called), Anna Oposa, spoke...fun! Below are some of the tweets I've retweeted while the workshop was ongoing:

I missed the talk of Mark Bantigue because the livestreaming suddenly stopped working. I was most "tutok" on the last talk by Anna Oposa. I love how animated and expressive and passionate she is when sharing her advocacy and the way she presents her presentation and materials. Very educational. I enjoyed every single moment of it and reminded me of my family who is passionate in protecting the environment and educating the people around us about the environment back home.

Storified? Haha. Almost all her thoughts and quotes found on her presentation are just worth sharing. More than being a green advocate, a thresher shark advocate, a marine life advocate, I like that she uses her being a good speaker and writer to spread and advocate hope and optimism and the Philippines. I agree that we should be our own country's ambassador, an advocate of hope, faith and love. The world, offline and online, has had enough of devastating news. We have a part, we can do our part, no matter how young we are, to change this world for the better. Big or small, a difference is still a difference. Let's not get tired of spreading (and planting) the good news of hope...pass it on!

What I Learned Today #1: The New "Segment"

This will be my blog's new "segment". As if I had an old one. Haha. Just would want to jot down my day's thoughts, notes and learnings worth sharing and worth remembering years or decades from now. So here I am in my DAY 1 of the WILT Segment. O di ba, may initials pa. Social. Haha

No segments from hereon. I don't blog regularly so it doesn't make sense. :) My learnings for the day below:

• I know my sister would do anything and everything for me...like skipping the first 30 minutes of her laboratory class just to send me an urgent email. Thank you my dearest Nyn-nyn! :)
• Passionate people are everywhere. Each and everyone of us has our passion that we are willing to live and die for. And we excel when we do it because we strive to become better til the better becomes the best. 
• Answered prayers just send you praying more because God has shown you once again of His faithfulness to you, to His plans and to His people.

I am Home

I am back home...literally. But just for a week. More posts are coming soon, I hope, and I want to. Just want to test this new look of the blogger dashboard. EIA: it seems to me hap..from a quick look.. you wanted to do some things which you used to do..then you tracked it down..only so that you have more reason to do it.haha so in that case ang imoha rang goal is obey oneself
ME: actually, partly, mau na ang reason. pero naa man na that I don't do. like waking up early and being excellent
ME: 1. find myself again and forgive myself.
ME: 2. change bad habits of procrastination and waking up really late

ME: ay. maybe naingon na nako because at times, I find myself not giving my best despite doing what I dreamed of doing, which is work for GK.

ME: Maybe because everything is new dri and I find myself drowning and adapting what the people around me expects me to be

EIA: you cannot just do something and hope it gets you somewhere you wanted to be..when in the first place you do not know where you wanted to be

ME: when I am able to give my all. be able to push myself to wake up earlier, go an extra mile learning all about online marketing and HTML codes. be excellent in my deliverables and be able to deliver them on time.

ME: unsa imung hint. puro ra gani na GK related pero kung apilon ang relationships, I want to able to give time to call up my family and friends as well. to make extra effort to make them realize that they're important to me

ME: best results ---- you may come up with one when you give your best efforts and you are doing something that kahibaw gyud ka kay gstudyhan gyud nmu or you've been practicing it for a time now.
ME: actually, currently, i am not being able to give out both.
ME: LIKE: that what makes math easy..it does not change..it repeats itself and the results are known --- TWEETABLE. Haha
EIA: we will eventually find a lot of tweetable, statusable combination of words, phrases that people will like.. but they cease meaning unless they effect in a us more than just being likeable.
EIA: so..moving on.. what best do you want to see in your self - best effort or best result?
ME: both.
EIA: the answer is simple

ME: when I know I am able to push myself to give my best
EIA: like better is between two comparisons.. with what do you compare so you can say that it is now your best?
EIA: example.. just as u use a ruler for measuring..with what do you measure your best against?

EIA: the problem that goes with that is you measure your height using a bathroom scale. it can build frustration
EIA: expand - you measure your input effort by the results.. it produces a problem because you will not be able to identify the problem which is a bigger problem..

EIA: i-research rgud ng metrics.. its how bpo measures themselves.. its a way of measuring what used to be vague by placing parameters

EIA: one streinous thing worth doing..is compete with ones past actions
EIA: in comparison to how you effort before..only then can you say nga ahh best ni nko..ahh.. better ptong ghapon..
EIA: mao man toh ang tinuod nga gibuhat sa fireproof
ME: so lain2 gyud ang pagmeasure sa best gyud.
EIA: he bested himself in the challenge everyday
EIA: if he had did this one before..he did it again and added some more into it
ME: lagi. and bsan lisod buhaton kay buhaton ghapon niya.
EIA: it was least on the difficulty of things..it was on the intensity of doing each one over again..perfecting the demand of love, he was beating his older self
ME: so do we the day 1, day 2, day 3 and so on challenges?
EIA: we can do a lot of things.. but if we keep busy ourselves with the wrong things..we are wasting precious time
